i am wondering is this a nice setup. i have been away from salt for a year and a half. i had a 55 and 180 reef that i sold on here because of job loss. now everything is stable and would like to start small and probley stay small. is this a good setup for a reef, or is there a better one, no bigger than 28 gallon. thanks in advance.

i think the 28 or 29 gal with a mh over it are pretty cool, plus you can put some pretty nice skimmers in the back overflow part! i have a 29 bio cube with a 250 watt mh over it and it looks great!

they r fantasic! Great lighting and incredibly low maintinace. i had around 400 gallons total myself about 2 years ago and recently got back in and went with the nano cube. it is just fantastic!

i love the 28 with halides, big tank in a little package lotsa potential for a super reef with a few mods or use it out of the box and still have an awsome reef.

use cpvc and black epoxy paint and run the outlets to the front of the tank, under the rim, angled back to blow front to back. With a little dremmeling you can hang a 14"x4"x12" HOB refugium w/ skimmer for cheap, around $75 with cfl for it(would only do if you get the 24 w/ MH, i haven't done it with the 28, nor have i seen if there is room to mod the hood for it, but works on both on the 12 and 24 model). put larger return pumps in it, also you can add cfl or large amount of leds for actinic sup and 24hr lighting, vs the mh and moonlights that it has factory.
