Nano DX surface skimmer?

What does a surface skimmer actually do?

it takes water from the very top of the tank so you dont get a protien skin on top of your tank. I never really got one on my nano-cube until it was about 7 months old, then it would appear a few days after a water change.

I got a surface skimming attachment for it and never have had a film again. it was worth every penny

You can just use one side of an old cassette tape box and works just as well. Keeps with the sleek look of the tank too.

do you glue it on or something? With what? Superglue, is it safe?

I'm setting up a 24g nano DX.
Is it good to have "Remora with Maxi-Jet 1200" skimmer?

not many people run skimmers on their NC..

I guess if you plan to have lots of fish it's a better idea
