Nano Project Done!!!!!!

I had to move my 5.5 nano off of this shelf and onto a stnad that my dad and made. This has been a three week project, off and on, and it has not been completed (a half hour ago...) The stand was made out of 40' of 2x4 and stained a cool red cherry color. The nano has approximatley 7 poinds of rock in it and has two ocellaris (sp.) clowns, a sea cucumber, about 20 hermits (some for the ucoming 75 project), two turbo snails, and two small snails that move so fast and only come out at night, i forgot the name... There is a 56W COmpact fixutre over it (so there is PLENTY of light) and te stand itself weighs about 60lbs. , more than the whole tank together...hahaha, well, i know it isnt much on the eyes, but i still wanted to share becuse it is a MEGA releif to me kowing that it is all done, here are some pics...

Looks great - DIY projects never quite turn out the way we envisioned in our head but when you can finsih them, sit back and enjoy them, I think they turn out worth it

Do you also plan to move the clowns into your 75 when they get bigger? they are really nice looking now good color. Oh, and that cucumber? haha Mine is probably going on 2 feet long now... I hope yours doesn't knock everything over!

And black for a room color.. that's gonna be hell to paint over if you ever change your mind someday hehehe


Do you have any plans for a canopy or fuge or anything in the future for the nano? We're running a 3g here that seems pretty easy to take care of - water changes are a real snap lol and I am tempted to either build an experimental LED system for it or my husband is looking at a clamp on 70w Halide fixture i thought was neat.. hopefully not overkill for a 3g .. might be nice on a 5.5 like that

Yes, i am...... THe clowns a are goign to be in a much larger tank, and i LOOOOVE my clownies........lol


I am soo happy this is done, and water changes are not TOO bad, i mean about 3 cups a day, that is toghin compared to alot of tanks, well, thanks guys..
