Nano rock-not so nano!

"It is very light weight rock from the Pacific. It`s popular for building reefs due to it`s light weight and high capacity for bacteria growth. It has very dark purples and some orange coraline algae growths. Each rock is going to be about 3 to 11 inches."
This is description MD uses to describe their Fiji Nano Rock. I am starting a 30G cube and ordered 2 of their 11# boxes of Nano rock. Had it overnighted at extra cost. Rock looks great but for a total of 22# I got 3 rocks-2 small about 3-4" each and 1 boulder measuring 18x22inches. If I had wanted large pieces why would I have bothered to order nano sized rock? Phoned and talked with a rep who offered either $15 store credit or I can return rock at my expense. Not acceptable. Lesson learned to not deal with MD in future.

My husband tried breaking up the boulder with hammer/chisel. Finally used hydraulic press to break it into 5 pieces which I won't be using. This rock was so dense-looked like marble rock inside so broke into straight planes with sharp edges. Not something I want in my tank. Went ahead and ordered more "nano" rock from someone else. Due to how MD handled this I will definitely no longer do business with them.

they should be giving you a refund. i know dr fostersmith/liveaquria would
infac ti was mad about the quality of rock and they gave me a refund and i got to keep the rock. just paid shipping. cant beat customer service like that!
im gonna tag with this thread to see how MDL handles this ( was planning on using them for some corals but not sure now after reading another thread that you posted with them offering you a 15 $ credit or somthing like that. may be sticking to MD for drygoods and liveaquaria for corals)
keep us updated

Surprised that MD has not posted a response to this yet. I see that they have answered other posts that were made after yours
