Nano Skimmer ?

Is the nano skimmer really worth the money? Does it work well? I feed 3x a day sometimes 2x a day. Does it stop skimming after feedings? How about if it does stop skimming, will the bubbles go in the tank? Does it take several hours to start skimming agian after feedings? Break in period? Any other things about this skimmer please let me know. I am tired of wasting my money on things that don't work and really need a good skimmer.

How big is your tank?

I have a 9002 Nano Skimmer in my 30G and it is awesome. I have to clean out the cup every 4-5 days. No bubbles spit back into the tank. I think it is a great design.

I have not noticed any change in the skimmer performance after feedings. However, I honestly never paid any attention.

I experienced a break in period of a few hours. I don't know if that is common or not. I experienced the same break with my 9005.

Quality is top notch. Great design.

Keep water level pretty constant. That is the only "touchy" part of the design. If the water level gets too low the skimmer stops running properly. It is super quiet. No more "glug glug" skimmer noise.

$135 investment made me smile when I installed it in my tank and heard the very low noise and fantastic production.

I have both the 9002 and the 9005. You wont find a better small skimmer for the money in the 9002.

All skimmers will stop skimming after feedings or if you reach into the tank. Foods and oils in your skin change the surface tension of the water so that microbubbles cannot be formed. That being said you wont get bubbles in the tank after feedings.
