NanoBox LED

Has anyone has any experience with these? I stumbled across them this morning and they look like a good light in terms of spread (for my 24" L tank). I also like that all new models ship with a wireless module so I can control it from my phone/tablet. But for ~$500, I want to make sure the light can grow corals.

Dave of Nanobox is building and installing his dual puck retrofit kit into my Biocube 29 hood. I can't wait until it arrives! I don't think growing any type of coral, even the most light demanding SPS or clam will be an issue at all. More than likely, you will be running them at or around 50% intensity with a slow acclimation process up front in order to avoid scorching your corals.

Thanks for the input! The more I read the more I am learning that people really enjoy his lights. With the WiFi built in and the small footprint (still can't believe it's less than an inch thick) is a big selling point for me.

If you consider the cost of the top end LED fixtures of brands like Radion, Kessil and AI, then compare them to the Nanobox lights, in my opinion, it's a no brainer. Dave's lights include the tank mounting bracket and the wifi mini Bluefish controller as standard equipment, whereas those are add on items for most other brands. Read up on his V3 LED array that he uses in his fixtures... gorgeous color and pop, using 2 Rebel ES Lime diodes per array. Remember, these are custom lights, not off the shelf. Dave builds each light to order so there is a wait, once you put in your order. To me, the wait is well worth it.
