Nanowave 9 Pics?

I just picked up a Nanowave 9 over the weekend. I got it setup on Saturday and put about 6 # of Bali live rock in it yesterday. Would love to see some pics of others who have this same tank. I'll post some in the very near future.

Also if anyone has any tips/recommendations regarding this tank I'm all ears.

Thanks!

Great I got one to! Pics eh sorry, mabye some day- to darn busy-anyway- I can tell you I am very happy, and for a small tank its very well done in its creation. Some mods and mines kicking serious ARSE!!

I bought a small heater I put in back in the middle chamber to keep the temp steady. Then in the back middle chamber- put a layer ( an inch or so of live sand )and about 2-3 pounds of small live rock chunks. As well as some cheleto, and salt plant material, creating a small but very important and effective refugium!~!

The lighting it comes with is fine for lots of things, but I wanted more for future additions, so I removed the lighting hood ( easy to do) then I bought a coral life 96 watt fixutre with support legs, and now things are booming! BTW, my tank is about 1 month old.

I,ve got all kinds of frags- Frog spawn, Zoos, Candy cane Shrooms, An orange Monti even a Sps ACRO,

1 orange clown
1 orange and blue Blenny ( I think)
3 crabs
1 skunk shrimp
9 snails -

Yeah Ive spent about 800$ or more so far but its worth it!
Good luck and make sure to make that middle chamber a refugium!! I turn on the refugium light when I shut off the main lights at bedtime so it runs all night, then reverse the lighting squence in the morning.

Have fun!

I turned the skimmer on after the live rock addition and it's only pulling water - probably not enough bioload at this point. I'm going to be keeping mostly soft corals - zoo's etc., so the lighting should be quite sufficient for what I want to do. And on top of that by summer end I'm hoping to be in a new house - therefore I don't want to get too crazy as I'll have to move this.

How is your system doing with the fish load you have? I was thinking of getting a small perc or ocellaris pair to put in there and maybe a small goby. Ideally I'd like a small shrimp too and some snails, hermits for cleanup.

Your system sounds nice - I'd love to see a pic of it if you ever have the time.

Oh yeah, the lighting it comes with is quite sufficeint. Believe me if I a camera around I'd love to show it off. Keep the skimmer on 24/7 heh-some days after work or wakeing up in the morn the darn overflow cup is full. Which is a good thing, shows its working. =) Ofcourse some days not a drop. Trust me you'll be dumping that thing every morning and night for a while.

I've found that (Barely) putting the cup back on the skimmers top is most effective, that way it doesnt fill up to fast.

Well currently mine is filling up with clear water in a matter of a minute or two. I have a feeling that the bio load isn't quite there yet in order to actually fill it with what it's supposed to be filling up with.

Here are a couple pics - notice all the tiny bubbles coming out of the intake in the second picture - this is the result of the skimmer - is this typical? I wouldn't expect that many microbubbles.

Ok, first off always use Distilled water and since its cheap and we have such small tanks its the only water to use. Never use tap water!!

Yes, some bubbles are always normal, but I dont have any at ALL coming from the intake vents, like yours is. I wonder if somethings loose concering the bottom connection of youre skimmer- WAIT DONT PANIC mabye itll clear up over night. If not pull the skimmer assembly out and check out the connections.

Remember wierd and unexpected things happen all the time always let a night or day go by before changing something.

Nice rocks btw.
