Its been a long journey and here is my75gal reef tank. Still adding corals slowly and my Tang is in my quarantine which is a 12gallon Nanocube.

The tank is 75 gallons with 160lbs of agronite sand and 90lbs of live rock. I just raised my Tek 6x54W Lights to 8" and as you can see my Anemone likes it much better. My bulbs are ATI-Blue Plus, ATI AquaBlue, Super Actinic, ATI ProColor, ATI-Blue Plus, ATI AquaBlue.

Before with Lights 4" from surface

After with the Lights 8" from the surface

Here is a picture from the center of the tank. You can see the Lobo coral has some bleaching from the lights. Its been getting better but still needs more healing.

My DIY Kalkreactor... Made out of an old DI canister with a magnetic stir and a 2.5 inch stir bar. I used a flat drain disk and glued it inside the bottom of the DI chamber so that the stir bar has a flat surface to spin on. It stirs every 6 hours for 5 mins. The water container in the back is fed by my RODI unit and has a float valve to shutoff. I use and ATO float switch in my sump to power and Aqualifter pump to feed the KalkReactor.

And finally this is my power center. It fit nice inside the Nano12's stand.

Wow, thats a super nice and clean setup. I really like the DIY Kalkreactor, thats a really good idea and I think I might have to just use that as a guide for when I build one of my own. Thats totally a sweet idea.

Thanks :)

I got the idea from someone on this site but I decided to added the stirbar and magnetic stirrer to keep the Kalk mixed. The stirbar never gets stuck because the Kalk stays below the drain plate. The only downside is the unit only lasts about 2-3 weeks before you need to refill with Kalk. Some of the Neilson reactors can go a month without refill. I tried a Neilson reactor but I had problems with the pump clogging and it leaked. The DI canister doesn't leak and it takes up less space.
