Need a new return pump.

Hi All,

I am in need of a new return pump. I now have a Velocity T4 and love it. I has been running nonstop for the past 2 1/2 years with only about 3 cleanings. It is just getting to the point where I either need to replace it or at least have another one on hand....just in case.

What do you all recommend? I am not afraid to spend some money on it since it is a very important part of my system.

I do want to get a little more turnover also. Right now I am guessing I am getting about 500-600 turnover. I want to up that. Even if I have to throttle the new pump back.

I have a basement sump room where it goes up about 7 feet then across about 6 feet to the floor then up to the tank where it is "Y"ed to the the returns. It is all 1" until up to the tank where it is 3/4" to the lockline.

Suggestions?

Not sure if a Hammerhead would be the best choice, they are really made for circulation, not really designed to work against head pessure. I would imagine it would lose a lot of flow going up from the basement, though it would probably work. While pricey, you may want to look at an Iwaki 70 or 100RLT. The 100 can move ~1500gph at 20ft of head pressure, the 70 can do 900gph at 20ft, just going off the flow charts, but it would seem these would be more than enough. I dont remember what the Velocity is rated at and cant seem to find one to look it up right now.
