Need Advice on Green Bubble Algae

I acquired some nice Coral from a fellow reefer, however, I also got a bad case of Green Bubble Algae from his rock, which has spread around the tank all over the place, even on the returns.

I added 20 Emerald Crabs however their claws do not seem to be able to grab onto the large bubbles. I have a hundred snails but I am not sure they are consuming the bubble algae either.

There is no way to manually remove them without popping the bubbles and increasing the spread. With tweezers, the algae must be pride off the rock with some force, they just can't be vacuum'd up.

Is there some type of Fish or Invert that will completely consume the green bubble algae? Are the Bubble Algae harmful?

Thanks!
Jonathan

The Mithrax crab eats them, I've heard. Google it and you will find some info

manual removal, and biological forms of control will be hit or miss.

Think of it like aiptasia once it's in your tank, you're pretty spending the rest of your days nuking each one as it pops up.

Used to think that bubble algae only liked low flow areas, however in a frag tank that's connected to my system (the only place bubble algae grows) it actually grows right along the intake vents for my Tunze 6100, which I would think would be fairly significant in flow.

I`ve always had a few in my 180..Just pick what you can and keep your husbandry as good as possible. Mine don`t seem to get out of hand, just one here and there. I have broken some before while trying to remove them and it doesn`t seem to make matters any worse.
