90 gallon tank "“ 1 yellow tang, two false percula clowns, one huge engineer goby, a cleaner shrimp, 3 anemones (all clones; it keeps multiplying) soft corals, cleanup crew. Testing shows all water params in order: 0 ammonia,; 0 nitrite; 0 nitrate; ph 8.2; calcium 400; KH 9, SG 1.025; temp 80-82 with lights on.
The wrasse (Cirrhilabrus cyanopleura) that I have had for a year has evidently died. I am wondering if my once a day feeding schedule might not have been often enough, although I never saw any signs of emaciation. Nor could I find any evidence of floor surfing (and there is plastic mesh around the canopy openings). I can't decide what might have happened to him - No remains, no ammonia, no fat fish. Heck, I can't even find his picture!
So now besides being left puzzling over what might have been his fate I am considering adding an automatic feeder. I am thinking that way I could do more frequent but smaller feedings. Also contemplating the purchase of a new wrasse or perhaps a small group of flasher wrasses (Paracheilinus filamentosus). Wondering if this seems a good solution and a good purchase with what I already have? Keep in mind that I am in love with hardy and cheap.
I have always gotten great advice here and would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks, Sue
