I got a small French Angel in QT right now. He was treated with Prazipro for 2 weeks and survived that. I normally overfeed my fish in QT to get them fat and happy, but I think my water quality suffered. So now he's got Ich (still eats like a pig).
I used a product called Proto Marin Intensiv, and have been dosing it per the instructions for 3 days now. In the past it has always worked well for me. However, I didn't realize the medication was expired. So I did a 50% water change on the 30 gallon QT system this morning (8am) and added fresh carbon. I'm hoping to start the initial dose with Cupramine when I get home, but I'm going out of town the next couple of days and leaving this afternoon (3pm).
Wondering if I can dose the first dose of Cupramine after 7 hours of carbon treatment? Is this enough time to try to rid the old chemical? I get back on Monday (noon), so I can dose the second dose then, which is a little over 48 hours. Opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
