Hi

I Have a dilemma and need some help/guidance in making an informed decision.
I have a 24" cube dominated by sps lit by an evergrow it 2060 pro reef plus two 24watt t5s.
Coral growth is not bad but some sps are very slow.
I've had current light set up for three years plus couple of led beginning to fail.
I need to upgrade my lights don't want to go t5 because bulb replacement.
I have narrowed the choice to the new evergrow 5060 plus or hydra 52hd. Which lights would give me the best results coverage/growth?
Specifically high end acros?

Many thanks justin

Hi Jay

Not looked at the Orphek Atlantic V4 have you used them long and what do you rate about them? Are you growing mainly acros?
Many thanks justin

T5 bulb does not need to change as we thought (8 to 10 months) from a BRS laboratory video. But of course, today's LED is more than capable to raise coral.
I use ATI blue plus and actinic bulb, plus two Kessil AP700 LED. So far so good.

Just my two cents.

It's still a lot of money to fork out every 12 months plus.
I had an anti 8 x24 watt light it was good but could not justify the extra cost.
If you had to choose just led what would it be?
Many thanks

Personally I like the Aquaticlife T-5 LED hybrid fixture with Radion G4 pro's. If I had to choose only LED I would go radion G4 pro.

I am confused on how one is better than the other in terms of any led fixture. It's all the same light hitting the corals, just different strengths and spreads. The best led tanks I have seen all have a lot of fixtures hung high instead of one hung low. I have never seen one fixture do anything better than the other but this is all other people's tanks I am looking at.
I have yet to try and grow my own acros under led. I can't even put an led over them without being irritated with the look. It's like certain hues don't show up, that will under t5 or halide.

Yes i know what you mean with t5 and halide very good colours and growth.
I suppose what I'm asking is which led unit represents the best value for money including coverage and growth potential.
I presumed that all led are not equal ie bridgelux compared to cree.
Only have £300 ish to spend and need to make the right choice or the best I can.
Thanks to everyone how has chimed in.

I have not used them but going off what I've read is I was to use led they'd be what I'd use. I still prefer t5 or MH
