Need help choosing Skimmer for 150g Reef

I am looking to spend around $1000, total system volume would be ~220g-250g, and one key is that the skimmer cannot be 25"+ and it has to have room for clearence to remove the head, unless it can be run externally and outside of the stand as the Marineland Deep dimension tanks have short stands. Tank is 36"x36"x27" and I plan to build the sump around the skimmer.

840 would be fine but if you plan on upgrading 1050 would be better give victor a call you will be hooked.I can't say enough good things about them.

Another for the ATB, either the 840 or 1050. I run the 840, and it is the best performing skimmer Ive had yet. Mine is pulling a full cup of dark, sludgy skimmate every 5 days with nothing in the tank. All I have is 100 lbs of live rock, most of it cured from my last setup.

Maybe check with Bogg he bought that skimmer for his 120 gallon Elos and thought it was to much skimmer for his set-up.
