Need Help DIY Refuge pics

I currently have a wet/dry and I was thinking about adding a refuge. I look at all kind of tank measurements and the only thing that will fit is a 25g (that is if I keep my wet/dry). I have been reading up on bio-balls and filter socks and have decided to not use either. I have gone with the plain to build my own to fit my stand.

The refuge will have to be in 3 parts. (so they fit in the doors) This is no big deal I can have them either fall into each other or use a little pipe to connect them. I have a Quiet one 6000 pump and I would like to continue using this. I also have a Berlin 3 stage skimmer. The plains must include room for both of these. Also this is going to be a reef tank.

The measurements of the area is..

58L x 27H x 15.5W

These are exact measurements so the height of the refuge can only be 20 inch so I have room for my hands :) and the length has to allow for the Plexiglas.

I have so many ideas that I can not get one down on paper.

Please give me ideas, measurements of baffles, anything. Or even links I have looked and read and still not sure what I want.

Thank for all the help

It is not a good idea to put a skimmer in the same compartment as the return pump. You will introduce a lot of micro bubble into your main tank. It is best to put the skimmer in the compartment where the drain is....

you could place the skimmer in the return section, just place the return from the skimmer back into another compartment.

Thank you for the link. Great info. Also thanks for the feed back. Still looking but have an idea in my head. Will get it down for input. Thanks all
