I saw someone use electrical conduit to make a stand from the floor on each side coming up and crossing over the tank. He hung it from the bar across the top. Painted black it didn't look bad at all, but you have to make sure it's stable and can't be knocked over.
Another option would be a bar across the top supported by the top rim of the tank. You would have to find some aluminum type angle iron like they use for shelving at Lowes or home depot. Make it fit the top of the tank like the bottom of a hood does and make some attachments to hold risers that would support your top bar.
