Need help Now

For those of you that don't know, I tried to kill my tank off this past weeked. I dosed alk because PW said I had a 5 on the test kit. I thought they tested DKH and they didn't. So 5 was already high. I dosed alk and some crytsals from the jug fell into the tank. They disolved before I could get them out of there, and I din't think about turning off the return to stop it until my tank looked like milk. I lost most of my CUC, my Vlamingi tang, and my crocea. The crocea was on its way out and this just pushed it over the edge. I thought after that my corals would be ok, but yesterday some of my sps tips were white. No big deal, got home from work today and saw that they were starting to fade. I need someone to hold my sps if at all possible. Let me know if you can give me a hand storing some acros and some other sps for me.

I've got plenty of room, but the tank is still pretty "young" so harder to keep acros may be a bit risky. The few SPS frags I do have (including one acro) are doing well though.

I'm off Thursday afternoon and Friday. Other than running errands, I should be around so you can call my cell.

Sorry to hear that bud. Hopefully you can save the rest of the SPS. If I had any of my 30 tanks set up I would help for sure. Let me know if you need help with anything.

BTW... what the hell were you dosing from the bottle for?!?!?

Thanks all. Jesse is going to take most of my SPS for now and hold it for me, but I might need some homes for some of the leathers or if someone is wanting some leatehers let me know.

I had the 1g jugs made up with the bulk reef supply stuff. My pump nozzel was not working so I just took it off to put in the little bit that was in the bottle. I had a few chunks of crystal alk in there and that was it. Sucks, a rookie mistake that I should have know better than that for sure.

hmmmmm.....thinking...the two part alk is just soda ash and even if you dumped a bit of sediment in it shouldn't have altered your parameters that much unless something else was out of whack too......such as the ca which if you raised the alk to high would cause the ca to percipitate out wouldn't it?
