I never test the water do water changes about 60-90 days 50 gallons at a time i do check salt keep at 1.025 dose 2 part calcium few time a week, but never check; please don't yell to loud! add iodine weekly 1 drop per gallon. that's what i've been doing.
need help going forward please! just ordered 280 72x26x 36"tall to build in wall starphire all 4 side viewable from 2 sides when done ordered sump from glass cages to go with i thing it's 60 gal it also has overflows on back. i do not have a whole room to use only over size closet.

I'm not sure what a refugium is but want to learn I also have bioballs in my current sump and have learned they are not good. need help with pump size plumbing, returns ect. i think i good with lighting have 3 AE novas Leds love them only run at 75% so i thing with deeper tank will have to turn up?

do I need want calcium reactor other items? also on the fence of metal or wood stand have access to welder so i think i will go this route.

House is being built now have concrete and block walls up so framer tank going in soon. where tank is going i built like shower, recessed with drain and extra electric, and a 1/2" pipe to garage where i can pump new salt water in from. Thanks for any help advice! oh will need help how to move water fish live rock only 15 minute commute.

You are asking for volumes of information which would be beyond the scope of just reading random threads on-line. Get some books on reef keeping - the newer the better. None of them totally agree with each other. Then contrast them with personal opinions here to get more ideas and a bigger picture.

Yeah, your best bet is to just get reading. You can get the basics down in a week if you really want to.

I had a tank that my father-in-law gave me and I just kept buying cool fish until everyone died. Then I realized I had to do more than water top offs and feeding ... dug in, got smart thanks to a lot of these forums and now I have an awesome tank. Shouldn't take you too long if you really want to learn.
