need help w/ lighting

Sorry I haven't been around much, life has had its ups and downs lately and the tanks have been neglected

anyway finally getting around to some projects that had been put on the back burner

my lights have 2 ballasts each running a 96W bulb

one light went out in a tank - same ballast runs a fan which was working so figured it was the bulb (bulb out fan on)

got bulb - didn't work - switched bulbs and bulb worked in the other ballast (bulb worked)

got new ballast - and opened up everything to see what was what - meanwhile light sat turned off for about a month

But,
now Ballast A (runs light and fan) - lights up bulb but fan is not working (bulb on fan out)

Ballast B (runs just a light) - lights up bulb weakly

and new bulb no longer fires in either ballast

arrgh - so now what? tonight I am going to switch the fan to the other ballast to see if it will work then but after that I really don't know what to do

help

Geez Kerry - sorry to hear of your troubles with the ballasts. I hope some of those swell guys with technical know-how can chime in and help you. I can only commiserate.

Thanks Diane,
I am so done with trouble shooting - I know this comes easy to some people but it does not to me :(

I am considering just scrapping this light but can't afford new, if I get some time I am going to lurk around to see if I can find a cheap used set but don't want to end up in the same fix I am now.

You know, I have a ballast/pc combo in the storage. This fit a 20 gallon or 29 gallon tank. What width is yours? Maybe we could just replace what you have?

I'd be happy to check and see if it fits or works for you and then you could just come on down to B-vill and pick it up.
