Need help wiring ballast!

I took my ballasts out of my canopy and the wires that connect to the power source came off and now i am lost. The mogul base has a white and black coming off with a green ground, the ballast has a black, white and red wire and then my power source has black, white and green. My question is who goes with who?

What ballast do you have?

Without more info, this is what I think your wiring should be.


Red goes to white to socket.

Black on socket goes to black on ballast and black on power cord.

White on ballast goes to white on power cord.

Green on socket goes to green on power cord, and to the outside of the ballast (under a mounting screw is fine).
