Need help with a new purple LTA

I got a new purple LTA the day before yesterday. I tried to bury its foot in the sand, but it is kind of short so it doesnt saty buried all that wall and the anemone is showing no initiative to bury its foot on its own. The LTA looks healthy, there is good inflation in the tentacles and it is open nicely with my percula clown swimming through it and then going back to the hammer coral which is its current(and hopefully temporary home). Any ideas on what I can do with the anemone, I gave him a day on the side of the tank with no current, but he still eventually floated away.

It should have settled in almost right away. Is the mouth open at all? And is there any damage to the foot?

Try to dig a hole again, and then place some rubble around it to try to get it in place.

Have you turned down the flow while it is trying to settle in?

leave it alone. It will stop moving when it is happy. as far as I know anenomies wont attatch to the sand. usually just rock.

There are several sand dwelling anemones, Haddoni carpets and LTAs come to mind right now.

I guess I will try to leave it in a low flow area and put it in a hole with some rubble. From what I have read LTA's like to be in the sand, not on rocks. Is this right?

That is correct.

In the sand,

And in the sand, with the foot under the rock,

I moved the LTA to the middle of the tank where there is the least current. I dug a hole, pushed the sand up against the foot and put some small shells at its side. It seemed to respond when it caught some food during the feeding the the clownfish loves him, so hopefully all will be allright. Everything else in the tank is absolutely fine ( softies, LPS, various inverts, and of course fish). I will post some pictures tommorrow when the camera is charged.
