Need help with coral ID

I am ready to start adding some corals to my tank, but the LFS near me doesn't do a good job labeling their corals on the glass (just prices), and the staff either aren't friendly or nice but not convincing in their knowledge. I took a pic of a few I am interested in, so I can research about their care, lighting, aggression, etc. and most importantly, make sure I get something in my skill level...

Hoping I can get some help to ID. Attached are pics, with the corals I am interested in labeled A thru E. any help would be appreciated!!

Novice on names so not going to try and help you on that but it does sound like the lfs I first went to. I would point and ask what 'that' is, they will mumble some name and I would like...uhh sorry what? After which they would mumble it even quicker and then look at you like the cat dragged you in...I mean how could you not know what it is! Anyway, subsequently worked out they know as much as I do, which is not much AND I ended up with bad advice along the line.

Now moved on to another shop run by two marine biologists who just loves to share their knowledge, so refreshing!

Haha. This. Exactly. There is a cool warehouse place near me, but only open weird hours to the public... so I stick with this place which is 1/2 mile away. Good products, just not the best people.

Sorry for all the posts. Tapatalk is killing me... won't let me do multiples.

A. Frogspawn
B. Green Zoanthids
C. Palm Tree Polyps
D. Green Star Polyps
E. Green Ricordea Mushroom

Not 100% on C. but I'm pretty sure... The picture isn't too clear. All are great corals that aren't too difficult to care for. I will say that $55 seems a bit high for GSP. I would buy a smaller frag of it for much cheaper, they grow extremely fast :)

Sweet, thanks. Will do some research on these, and might look to see if they have the GSP on a smaller frag...

I second that sentiment on the green star polyps, once they start growing keeping it pruned becomes a weekly chore and they can be tough to give away after you've inundated all of your reefing friends with free frags :). But yeah, $55 is entirely to high for that coral.

A. Euphyllia sp. (Octospawn)
B. Various zoanthids, although I'm not really sure what those weird blobs in the middle of the colony are. I'd pass on this one
C. Goniopora perhaps? How many tentacles does each polyp have?
D. Briarium sp. (Green Star polyps)
E. Rhodactis sp.?

I think that is just live rock, but my phone camera could not properly render the colors under actinic lighting, so looks like a blob. Will double check in person, or look for another frag.

a few years ago, there used to be a young lady that worked there with some decent coral knowledge. i hadn't been in a few years until earlier this year, but at least since they moved anyway, i haven't seen her.

fwiw, i find it can help to start off by asking for someone that can tell me more about the corals, rather than just assuming everyone in there knows something about them.

sadly though, it might be that they don't have the depth in the staff that they used to.
