need help with Flame wrasse

A month ago, I recieved a flame wrasse. I noticed a small black mark on his head. Didnt really think of anything of it.

It eventually got bigger real fast and made a hole in his head.

I got a replacement that has been in qt for 3 weeks. But I have noticed a similar form of marking on the body now of this new flame wrasse. It is not a black mark but a white one. It looks like some form of ulcer or bump. But i can see the raised flesh. The good thing about it is that this flame is eating. I want to treat him before its too late. Can anyone guide me in the right direction with what type of medication I should treat him with. I have formalin and antibacteria medicine on hand. Thanks for looking.

I'm no professional but I would guess head line latteral errosion !increase vitamin C and nutrient's in it's diet while it's eating good!won't hurt! Bad disease if that is what it is! From what I understand it can be caused from stray electricity and lack of nutrient's . I would also geuss disease since the other fish in the container have not yet gotten it i'm assuming ? would head line lateral erosion cause the much damage in the first wrasse that fast? If diet is the case, I will keep the wrasse in my sump and continue to feed him heavily. Does anyone else have any idea?

Were the two wrasses purchased at the same lfs? I don't know if hlle would cause a hole that fast. I have seen gold fish with cancerouse bumps that can do that they swell up pop and then bacterial infection takes over.

the flame wrasse sore is getting worst and bigger. I took him out and placed him in a 10 gallon qt and treating him with triple sufla antibiotic.
Is there anything else I can do. Possible throw in some furan antibiotic as well? The sore is white and getting bigger each day. Please help. Thanks -Mike

Furan is a very good antibiotic. It could be HLLE, hard to say without a closer examination. If he is still eating, soak the food in Eco-systems garlic paste. It contains also vitamins not just garlic. Good luck I hope you save him. From the picture it looks like there is alot of tissue destruction.
