Need help with Mag 7 vibrating noise

Hey guys, I'm using a Mag 7 as my return pump and it is making a lot of vibrating noises. Is there anything I can use to dim the noise? I dont have any of the rubber legs that came with the Mag. Do you recommend me using a clean mouse pad as a rubber padding for the Mag 7? Will the mouse pad corrode my water?

Thanks in advance for your help.

The mouse pad shouldn't corrode. These pumps are notorious for being loud, but they are a great work horse pump. You could also go to Lowes and get the padding they sell to put in tool box drawers it works well. I used wetsuit material but I got it from a friend that got it from someone so I wouldnt' recommend purchasing something that expensive to just cut it up, but it worked wonderfully.

You can also put some sand in a ziplock bag and make a little pillow for it. Worked great for me.

That's a really good idea, did you fill it all the way or did you put just enough to cover and not let the pump hit the bottom of the sump?

I would think that as long as the pump it off the glass that it will stop the vibrating. maybe 1 inch of sand in the bag
