A difficult fish to get settled in and eating. I would rank it with Regals on that scale or worse. If not already in a QT tank get him in one and add some live rock and shelter and low lighting. Hopefully it will start eating soon. I have had some hold out for over a week without touching any foods. One never did and slowly starved to death. As you probably are aware from your research, this is a difficult fish to keep and requires a lot of work and care to get it settled in. Good luck.
I agree with the clam suggestion. Usually most angels can’t resist taking a nip eventually and then they seem to move over to other foods pretty quickly.
Yes. Live cracked clams, mussels, or oysters and maybe all three! If you have access to an Asian fish market, like China Town in NYC, fresh roe is the best IMO.
