I got 7 yumas all diff size and had them for a few weeks now but from last week the smaller ones starting to loose color and doesnt open up as much and as day goes by it get smaller and eventually melted. Now 2 medium ones (approx 3cm) starting to loose color as well, looks like bleaching. and its only half the size as it use to be. One of the bigger one, about 7cm has detached itself and also start loosing color.

I have check all para and all fine:
No2 : 0
Ammonia : 0
No3 : 0
Cal : 450
PO4 : 0
dKh : 7.8
PH : 8.4
Temp 23-24 celcius
Salinity : 25ppm

All my other corals are very healthy, i have hammers, torch, BTA, monti, acro, morphs and Ric Florida and more.

Whats left health with yuma is the big red one approx 7cm, it still has the original color and size and eats well.

Only thing i can think of is maybe the light, i have 2 x Maxspect 160w LED and the yuma is not directly under it. I have just upgraded to the PS Deimos 3 x 160W LED with T5, should i put the yumas directly under it?

Please help my yumas please.

The LEDs could be way to much for them.....Yumas need to be photoaccimated to stornger lighting.....In-direct shadowy lighting for a few weeks then slowly move them into brighter lighting.....BUt do it slow....

Could very well be.....Hard to say since I can't see it or not be around your system....I know I added a Reef Brite Blue bar to my tank and removed my T-5 actinics and just the blue bar started to bleach out some of my Florida ricordea....So I had to turn it down to almost the minimum voltage....from what I have seen so far with LEDs I think people don't understand how powerful they really are.....I would put money on it being to much intensity for them....I would move them to a shaded in-direct lighting and keep an eye on them.....I always start any new yumas out in a shaded area till they stretch for more light then slowly move them out till they flatten out.....I usually have them on the bottom of the tank as well.....Based on what you say you have for light it is pretty intense lighting system....Have any pics?

Those leds are way too bright for yumas. I've been wanted to switch to leds but I'm scared I'll lose my yumas. I have awesome pink ones that have taken me years to acquire and my fav I've had for 3 years, it was 2in when I got it, now its 6in. I'll quite the hobby if I lose it.

I wouldn't blame you there......

Have to agree! My Onyx Perc Aquapod has rics with the LED setup, but I've just not had the heart to move my more procey and rare yumas. Even a loss of e typical $30 head would be a total loss in my book.:smokin:
