Need help with sump plumbinng??!!

I recently acquired a used glass Aqueon 155 gallon drilled bow front aquarium with 2 overflows and stand. The Stand and tank need some clean up work as it was left to sit with water and some livestock in it for several months no power, filtration maintenance etc. Needless to say when I got it all the water evaporated and the fish, snails, live rock etc. were dead. I am in the process of cleaning up the tank now. The tank is already plumbed somewhat but I'm not sure if it's done correctly and how to finish the plumbing job once I am ready to set it up. Have attached a diagram which shows how it is currently configured. It basically has 1 drain with strainer and one return pipe in each overflow box. The drain and strainer sit only about 4 inches up from the bottom of the tank. I plan on installing an Aqualine wet/dry filter that came with the tank, which I will be turning into a sump/refuguim setup. Will the current setup work? Will it be noisy? How do I plumb the rest of the set up (pump valves piping etc.)? This is my first drilled tank so I want to get it right. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I personally like to have the water level in my display a little bit higher than the water level in my in-tank overflow box. Having the two levels be about equal reduces the waterfall effect and noise coming from the overflow. You can raise the water level by getting longer drain pipes. Look up Durso Stand Pipe and make some yourself- super easy to make and dead silent.

Also make sure you slap some gate valves on the drain pipes. Doing so will give you control to the amount of water you move from display tank to sump... its also helps in noise reduction. I'm a big fan of quiet tanks! :)

+1 on the Durso pipes. Not to hip on the valves on a Durso though. The Durso by design will only flow what its fed since it does not create a siphon like the bean animal. Use the up pipe vented with some floss to silence it.
