Would anyone be willing to help me identify this invert? It would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

What's the scale on that thing? It looks like Actinodendron, aka the Hell's fire anemone, which was named that for a good reason. Some species get pretty big and they really pack a wallop. As long as you're careful around them they're good for species tanks, but not so much for community tanks.

Someone else identified it as Hecteractic Aurora or Beaded Animone. I've brushed my hand up against it in the tank while cleaning and didn't have any reaction. Thanks for all you help!!

BTW it is about 5 inches across when fully displayed. I also have a smaller one, about 2 inches in a different part of the tank.

Heteractis is probably a better guess, especially if you didn't feel any sting when you touched it. I'm just used to seeing the "beads" on the tentacles being much less pronounced. Usually on the ones I see they're more like thickened bands rather than branches, especially on smaller animals.
