Each of you made some pretty good points, thanks for your input.
I am pretty sure that we have decided on the Finnex 30 gallon Nano. Finnex

The Finnex looks nice enough, if you want a ready-built unit. If you are willing to "roll your own", I can give you a drilled 30 gallon with a home made stand for free, along with a RedSea Prizm HOB skimmer, which I have sitting around. You could cap the drilled outlet for now and use it later if you decide to upgrade to a larger skimmer and sump setup. You can see a picture of the tank & stand here, it is the one on the right with the MH pendant light.

Let me know if you are interested ...

You can't beat that ... Very generous Shivaji ..

I also found the body for a Seaclone lying around... I have one in my sump modded and I could not be happier with it ... You are more than welcome to it if it'll help..

I also have more than enough plumbing to set up an overflow and sump if you did take this set-up...

Thank you all so much for being so generous, but I think I am going to pass on the offers. No offense, but for just starting out I think I'll stick with Finnex. With the lighting that comes with it I will be able to keep all types of corals and clams. I have been looking at this cube for a couple of months and I think my heart is set on it. And Shivaji you have beautiful tanks!

That's OK, good luck with the Finnex cube, and thanks for the compliment, though the tanks look a lot more ragged now as I have not been able to work on them for a while. That is why I was offering you the 30G as it is shut down now after it got overgrown with caulerpa and stuff. The FW tank needs the least attention, though, and has been in operation for over 13 years non-stop, and actually had a fish that lived 12 years before it died last summer.

No Michael, I am not shutting down, just thinking of getting something larger - I would have got Bill Dooley's 75G for sure if I had seen it in time !! Sure would like to make it to a meet sometime soon - seems like ages since they let me out at work:sad2:

Shivaji, I am happy to hear you are still all in. Forget the 75 I think you should go at least 120. :D Michael R

Forget the 120 , I say at least a 210 :D

I think Doc69 said something about tearing down his 210...??? I could be wrong (as usual) maybe you 2 can get something worked out.... I'd love a big ole tank but..... I think 100 is my limit (more like the limit in place.....love you honey!!)

Do I hear a 250 ? going once, going twice ...

Seriously, much as I would love it, I just cannot devote the time required, and as some of you know, I keep it easy and simple for just that reason. I do plan on swinging by UA next week, though, as I have meetings in the vicinity Wednesday & Thursday, so who knows ...
