Need some advice on my system.

I have a 30 gallon cube with a Eshopps Nano Cube sump. I have 25 lbs. of rock and 20 of
CaribSea black sand. My light is a Finnex monster ray for now till my led light bars arrive here this Tuesday. They are 12k white 24" at 18 Watts and a 18" and 12" 453 NM and a 12k 12" at 9 watts. So I figure to have 54 Watts total. Right now my light cycle is 9 hours display and 12 hours refugium. I have little to no diatoms in display but refugium is heavy with them. I know someone who just started curing a batch off Fiji live rock and I am considering getting 20 lbs. to replace the purple dyed rock I have. Don't like it cause it looks like painted concrete. Not pourus at all. Does anyone have any suggestions to help make my system better. Thanks for the help in advance.

Good rock is essential so invest in it.
Other than that I think the real question is what do you want from your tank? Are you thinking fowlr, or sps or something else although?
What makes a tank "better" is individual for us all.
