Ok I will be moving soon, and wil make my tank inwall. I have 100's of lil black snails, and do not like them. I am thinking of getting new sand but would I have to do the cycle again? and once I move I been thinking about getting a ribbon eel, is this a good idea. I just wanna take a new direction..

Do you have live rock in the tank? If so, its possible the cycle will be short even with some new sand. The best idea is to use all mature rock and sand obviously. You will probably get some kind of cycle with new sand.

Eels in general need very specific setups to thrive. Without knowing anything about your tank there's no way to know yet if its a good idea.

How far are you moving? I moved across town last year and didn't experience any noticeable cycle afterwards. I put all my live rock in a tub of tank water, drained the tank down to the surface of the sand and moved it with the sand still in the bottom of the tank. But I only have a shallow sand bed and the tank was only 3 months old at the time.

Well I have about 80lbs of live rock and my sand bed is only about an inch or two, I will need more sand cus i have various jawfish. I guess the reason I was looking into eel is cus I want a different direction. I tought about setting up a tank with carnation corals, sun corals, and sea fans. as far as fish maybe some pipefish, jawfish and a few flamefish and my one and only regal tang.
