I would def go with the 400 MH. You will need them for the sps at 30". I run 1 400 and 1 250 on a 36" long tank w/0 a chiller. Just put some good fans in your canopy.(my house temp is 74)

How long is the tank? If its the same length as a t-5 bulb, I would definitely go with a t-5 set up. If you want the shimmer, do a t-5 and MH set up.

As for the 400Watters, it depends on what you wish to keep on the bottom. Also, I would look at sanjays website to compare 250DE to 400SE bulb and ballast wise. This way you can get the best possible output for the least amount of money possible. And remember, when you add in the better reflectors available for the DE bulbs, the output is often comparable for those two types of set ups.

Man, you should do full power compactJ/K...Man, PC's were the rage for about a year and then dropped off when the T-5's and LED's became popular.

I have to go with LED's for my 180G...the heat in my house is horrible, as is the humidity, as is the electric bill.

Cschweitzer, be careful with LED's. They are not the performers they claim to be, as of right now.

They have a tank setup at big al's in ft lauderdale we looked at that had the LED's. I think it was a 55, and though the actinics looked rediculously awesome, I wasn't overly impressed with the normal day time lights.
