ok, so i have a 20gal tall that has like 5 dinky powerheads in it trying to make sure i get all the dead spots. i'm now looking to cut that number down and invest in some better heads.

i'm liking the tunze stuff, especially their controller they have for $50. although i'm not sure what and how many of what i should connect it to.

would 2 heads be sufficient for my tank?

i currently have a xenia, and hammer in it right now, along with a couple of clowns (when they get out of the qt they'll go in). i don't have the lighting to do sps, so i'm planning on mushrooms, lps, and soft corals.

what setup should i be looking at? any help would be greatly appreciated!

Tunze is nice, but you pay for it. I'm able to keep SPS in my 20H with just 2 MJ600's pointed at each other. Ok well I also have about 350GPH from a sump return pump but that really doesn't put out very much pressure. When I upgrade pumps, I'm considering a few options, since your setup sounds pretty similar. I'm considering the following:

- Mod the props on the MJ's and convert into a Tunze-style pump
- 2 Hydor Koralia 2's
- 2 Tunze Nanostream 6025's

The Hydor Koralia's look pretty cool... might try those down the line after they get all the bugs worked out. All in all, it seems like you don't need a whole lot of flow, but the more the better.

i think i'm going with the hydor koralia heads. if my lfs has the nanostreams i'll go with those but i don't think i saw them.

thanks for the info!
