Needing new camera

Well time has finally come to upgrade from the 3.4megapixel one I have
Any recommendations on brands, I've been looking at the Nikons and the Canon as it seems a lot of people are using them and some beautiful photos. Generally want this to be an easy to use camera that will do it all.

...but wait, you need lenses too!
50mm f/1.8 $74.00
100mm f/2.8 USM Macro $469.95

This would get you a solid start with a DSLR imho. Older cameras such as the Xt or 300D can be found cheaper.

If you want to keep it point and shoot, there is a lot you could do with $700 but I'll let some one else who knows more about it fill you in. The Canon PowerShot SX100 IS comes to mind for half your price.
