I have recently had an algae outbreak on a newer aquarium. While trying to identify if it was dino under a microscope I found large numbers of what I believe to be microscopic nematodes. They are red, rice grain shaped, and have the mouth like nematodes. Today I am able to see them on the wall of the tank. Endless numbers of tiny red specs moving around ( they are definitely not flatworms) . I have been skimming the tank but I believe my problem is the uneaten food debris is not reaching the sump through the overflow. The tank contains a BTA and 2 onyx clowns. Has anyone had similar experiences with the nematodes ( or if they are something else)? Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks
Daniel
