Neon dottyback

I had one in my 210 reef a few years ago... very aggressive. Ive heard that the tank bred ND are not as aggressive but Ive never owned one myself.

I had a tank bred and it was a model citizen in my tank. I've heard the wild caught ones can became a nightmare in your tank. Loved mine. The only issue I ever had is it loved to pull the small hermit crabs out of their shell. He didn't kill them (although they would die if there wasn't a shell close by) We would be sitting at the table and out of the corner of your eye you would see a naked crab hurling accross the tank. lol I would image though they would be more aggressive in a small tank.

It killed 4 cleaner shrimp before I figured it out! It would pluck there eyes out and thats it, just pluck the eyes out and leave. I came back from lunch one day and looked at my cleaner shrimp which did not look right and then I noticed the Neon dotty back go up and pluck the final eye out and leave.

I have one in a 400G+ tank and he feels he ownes the whole tank.....very aggressive when introducing new fish......Add it last

I have a friend who has one in a 550 gallon. It is relatively well behaved there unless a fish comes into its self proclaimed territory.

Thanks for responses. Decided it's to risky ie shrimp, terror etc. May look at the black capped or the standard royal gramma.
