Neon Eye Mix Zoas

I found some zoas I really liked and havent seen for sale before in my LFS a couple of weeks ago and wondered if anyone on here has seen them before.

I identified them as Neon Eye Mix zoas on zoaid.com. I think they look really good so if they are rare Im thinking of fragging a few polyps to trade/share. They are brighter than in the photo but I cant get a decent photo because of my LED lighting.

Why buy because they are rare? why not just buy cause you like them!... i know its a new idea but hopefully it will catch on.

i have had these for many years and they grow like weeds in my tank. they are a very nice looking zoanthid in person but in no way would i call them rare. but then again i dont think there is a such thing as a rare zoa/paly...

anyhow, they seem to like lower light and if they get too much light they will loose all there color and look rather bland.

I did buy them because I like them. I just wanted to know whether it was worth making a couple of small frags to trade for other nice zoas. Read the post properly..i know its a new idea but hopefully it will catch on.

Thats good to hear.. I would love them to grow into a large colony.

Thanks for the tip about the light. I will make sure I keep them low down as I dont want them losing their nice colour.

Personally I love to trade - so long as you like, others probably will too, and there is nothing wrong with making up some frags and offering them for trade. Personally I wouldn't frag them until I knew for sure they were established in my aquarium, as cutting may stress them and cause them to melt.

I totally agree but this colony came attached to just a few bits of rubble and I had to stick this to milliput so there are few polyps virtually haning off so I need to frag them whether I trade them or not.

Ive got some Ive had for a few months now. They looked like the ones in your picture when I first got them. Now theyve colored up quite a bit. Heres a pic as of 10 seconds ago.
