I recently bought this controller and have no idea how to set it up.Anyone local have experience or know how to set up and connect to outlets and computer? I have all the paperwork but it really only tells how to program the head unit, not how to connect all the hardware and internet

All I have at the moment is the head unit with temp probe and 2 DC 4s. all I want to control right now are heaters with email notifications then later I want to control pH and CO 2 for a calcium reactor

Depending on the version of AC III, it should have the RJ-45 Jack. Depending on who had it before will depend on how it was setup. I don't recall but think you can do a factory reset on this which is what I would do.

Go through this doc
http://new.neptunesystems.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/AquaController3Pro.3_2_web.pdf

It mentions how to setup the network (you will have to use a cable) and depending on how your local router is setup will depend on how you need to proceed.

My first step would be to download the software, update the firmware of each device (head, DC4) then proceed with playing around with the software

This is where I was running into trouble I put the CD in my computer and it installed everything but didn't get a setup wizard according to Neptunes website the version of aqua note I have is discontinued

I had a AC jr before i got my apex and it was a little intense at first until you get the handle of it. You can do all the programming right on the AC so you dont need to install anything on your PC. I live about 30-40 mins from you over in Washington County. I would do a factory reset on your unit and then if you google the code you are looking for you can find some basic examples.

as for connecting the outlets you should have cables that look like phone cables that connect from the head unit to the dc4s just daisy chain them from the head unit to the in of the first dc4 then from the out of that dc4 to the in of the second dc4

Hey honks69, thanks for the reply but I still have no clue with this thing I'm only about a mile from South Hills Village if you're ever available and you can come up and show me how to use it. Dave from Daves aquastock was trying to show me but I can't even get it connected to the router right to access it

My wife takes her rabbit and guinea pigs to wetpets once every 6 weeks or so and i know shes due to ask to go again. Next time we go I will be glad to stop and try to help. I never had my ac jr online so hopefully it works similar to the apex.

One tip I can give you is i called Neptune when i was getting my apex set up and their tech support was great They can remote connect to your pc and get things set up. I dont know if they can do this for the ac pro but it might be worth a call to see

They set up my port forwarding and static ip address and some other stuff for me
