I just put an order in last friday and got my order on tuesday, which is what i asked for. now heres my problem.
I got 2 nano packs of coral 1 polyp pack & 1 mushroom.. now for 120.00 i would think i would get some nice peices even at 1"-2" peices of rock...this was not the case for me. i got the smallest peices of rubble with 1 or 2 polyps attached, and they where BETTER than the mushrooms. i have 1 mushroom rock that had 1 tiny mushroom on it that was it.. i have yet to see any other mushroom. my lfs around here sells 3"-5" rocks covered with mushrooms or polyps for $9.00-$25.00 a rock.. for 120.00 you'd think you'd get something more along those lines right? well thats where i was wrong! ok now heres a list of what else i got (leaving out peices of the order im happy with)

i got

1-bulb anenome - 12" - far to big for a nano tank thank god i have bigger tanks
1-barncle blenny - 1/4 of an inch
1- citron goby - BROWN.. for 360.00 bucks ya'd think i would atleast get a yellow one!
1-blue yellow tail damsel - the most pretty and the most active out of everything i got!!!!! go figure i spent 360.00 to get an active 2.00 fish!!!!!!
1-filamented flasher wrasse - looks half dead and looks nothing like any picture of one ive ever seen before... he looks just like my fresh water vt male betta.
2 cleaner shrimp - 1 is pure white with 2 red stripes
1 pepermint shrimp
1 blood shrimp - i have yet to see him so i dunno if he's dead or not
various snails - they are on the small side but thats ok
1 nano polyp pack - an embarassment to coral everywhere if you ask me
1 nano mushroom pack - again an embarassment to coral everywhere.. i still have only been able to spot 1 mushroom

when i got my order i had everyone come over and see it before i knew what everyone looked like. all the comments i got where "you spent how much on that?", "thank god i didnt order from there, you got ripped off!".. that is NOT what i wanted to hear when i opened my order.. i order from there because all i ever heard was good stuff well guess what im sticking to saltwaterfish.com from now on! im not mad that my fish were either on the small to med size.. i like smaller fish but the anenome is crazy i couldnt even fit it comfortably anywhere in my tank hes UPSIDE DOWN under a rock refusing to come out! and thats with the mh lights on. im thankful i found this out before i went and put an order in for my 500 gallon tank!!

sorry if this makes no sense to anyone but im soooo mad right now i cant even think stright.

you should call them and tell them your problems. I am 100% sure they will take care of you. That is why LA is so great. THEY WILL MAKE IT UP TO YOU.

Give liveaquaria a chance. My last two orders had some issues but they have made things straight. I've also ordered from Saltwaterfish.com a few times and they are not even in the same league as liveaquaria when it comes to customer service and packing methods. All they have is an email address if you have a problem and their warranty is not as good.

I cant help but think that nickcolt, with his one total post on this board, is just somebody from the SW boards trying to make LA look bad to make SW look good. If I am wrong then great, but lets hear from nickcolt and see if his problems were taken care of, or hear from LA to see if he ever bothered to answer thier PM to him.

I don't believe that LA wouldn't make it up to you- I've had lots of problems with livestock as well and they have more than made up for it. Honestly, they are a great company and stand by their products- occasionally stuff happens, give them a chance.

Does LA own and care for the livestock that they list on their site? Or do they "cherry pick" at the local wholesalers?

jmicky41,
Drs. Foster & Smith's LiveAquaria.com operation utilizes many different suppliers to acquire livestock. We house and maintain corals, fish, and invertebrates in our Aquaculture Coral Facility as well as our Retail Store. These facilities are located next to our distribution and call center in Rhinelander Wisconsin.

We also select fish from one of the best importers in California in order to provide our customers with the widest selection of aquatic life, all backed by our Arrive Alive,
Stay Aliveâ„¢, Risk-Free Guarantee.

As far as "Cherry Picking" livestock, we choose to purchase large quantities of aquatic life from select vendors that we know and trust, rather than running around to all of the importers Cherry Picking livestock from everyone.

Please feel free to view these two articles on our LiveAquaria.com web site where Dr. Race Foster and I explain in more detail our operation.
