new 1" scwd problem

I bought one of the new 1" scwd's from you guys a couple of weeks ago. I just got the time to hook it up and its not switching. I'm running it right off the output of a mag 9.5 and its just sitting there only outputting on one side. do you guys have any replacement internals?

Hi John,

Sorry to hear about the problem. We haven't seen any problems with those first, so hopefully it's just something that needs reset. I would give 3iq a call at 818-888-7295 and see if they can trouble shoot it for you. Might just be one part that is not put in correct spot at the factory.

okay, it the impeller inside seems to spin, but the block off part doesn't move.

Sounds like it might be missing something. The Mag9 should drive it fine, so i think your pump is ok.

I called, the conversation didn't really go anywhere. he said that at 750 gph the scwd would switch at about every 3 minutes. mine doesn't seem to be switching at all. right now its outputting water out of both sides and the flow doesn't seem to change at all. I'll give it a couple of days and see what happens.

here's how I have it set up, I just took it apart and it won't even switch to clear the air out. I mean unless its taking an hour to switch I don't see that its going to happen.

I just responded to your e-mail. I am guess that it either needs a stronger pump to help handle the back presure. Or the pump is too strong and you need to add a ball valve to crank the flow back some. Hope that helps.

Can you get rid of the 90 that is righ befor the pump? Maybe get a FPT to hose barb, and then use a curved piece of vinyl to feed the pump.

It looks to me like the input side is to small diameter, and the 90 right before the pump is making it worse.

I tried moving the pump and having the input go straight down into the pump. this put the scwd over on its side. it still didn't switch.
