nice start. I like the look of the 16 gallon bowfronts. What kind of livestock are you putting in there? Are you going to use a skimmer?

I not really sure yet on live stock. I have lots of ideas frogspawn, elegance, torch, and maybe an annenome?, some small fish, goby, clown, 6 line??? and of course a clean up crew( man it got crowded fast).but Im still reasearching needs and compatability. and the skimmerI get mixed reviews...you dont need one ...you do need one, so any input on that is welcome:rollface:::

As far as a skimmer goes, I personally would get one for a tank that size unless you are going to be religious with weekly (yes weekly) water changes. In a smaller tank your chemistry can get out of wack really fast. I had a 7 gallon minibow (granted yours is bigger but I would still consider it a nano tank) going for a year or so and I started getting lazy with my water changes. Next thing I knew....major hair algae outbreak, and a major headache.

If cost is the factor see if you can find a used CPR Bak Pak or Aqua C Remora. Either of these would do a good job on that size tank. There are some newer "nano" skimmers out there but I am not familiar with them.

If you decide not to go with a skimmer then let me suggest a nice hang on back refugium for growing macro algae, pods, etc. It will help your water quality.
