I'am setting up a new 180 aga 72x24x24 w/two overflows. I would like some feed back on some of the equipment I get.

neptune sys aqua controller III pro

water movement:
tunze 6100x2

lights:
aqua medic ocean light 4x250mh's and 4x39w t5

protien skimmer:
trigger system ts300

sump/refuge:
trigger system ts36br

I also had a 180 and the Tunze's with the controller were perfect.

As far as the lighting goes, with 4 MH's it may be hard to position them as the tank has 2 supports that are about 2in wide. I had a 3x250 MH system that was spaced evenly and didn't have any shadows.

The skimmer I have never seen but on Premium Aquatics it looks pretty cool. Have you looked into a needle wheel skimmer at all? I found that the noise from the beckett as well as electricity consumption made the cost of a NW much more practical. Plus the NW needs almost no adjustment once dialed in.

Everything else looks great.

I havent looked in to the needle wheel skimmers but i will. I thought there would be some issues w/the supports and 4 MH's, thanx for all your help.

wanted to know if its worth the hassle of shipping it from germany, it looks awesome! The aqua medic fixture makes too much noise for me.

I would choose another pendant those run very hot . I got rid of mine because of the heat they produce.........Also the 1502 ca rx will not keep up with a fully stocked 180 IMO mine didn't keep up with my 120.

Also here is my 180 breakdown

5x 250 de roIII pendants ice cap ballasts
2x160 vho
Large dual chamber ca rx
jbj 1/3hp chiller
Reef Fanatic ATO
ER 8-2 and ASm g-3
Sander ozone
3x 6100 streams
2x6200 streams
2 single controllers
7095 contoller
Aqua controller II
Large custom sump
and a mag 12 return pump.

Tank is for sps and exotic lps.

If you end up getting the trigger systems skimmer let us know how well it works. They look like a really nice beckett skimmer for the price. As far as skimmer go, this is JMO, if you plan on having mostly SPS corals with some others mixed it then I would go Beckett. If you plan on keeping mostly LPS and softies then Euroreef/ASM or if the cash permits Deltec. Beckett skimmers, in my eperience, just knock the socks off of a kneedle wheel. I had a Euroreef recirc skimmer that worked great but when I switched to my ETSS it was night and day. I use the Euroreef as an ozone reactor now. It doesn't even skim anymore because the ETSS keeps the water so clean there is nothing left for it.

clkwrk, are you talking about the aquamedic or the gieseman or both ?

medince man, yeah i will, i really look foward to using the trigger system skimmer

thanks for all the feed back.

just ordered my trigger systems protein skimmer. I went w/the TS500 instead of the TS300. Cant wait till it gets here.
