So the tank we have now in our living room is a 180 with a 60 sump. The tank and stand are all custom and match the kitchen cabinets, it all turned out great but we are building a new house. The new house will have a true fish room downstairs with the main tank in the living room. The tank we want is going to be 4'X4'X27'' high or 5'x3'x27'' high with the 180 as the sump and fuge. The tank will be viewed on all four sides so the overflow will go in the middle of the tank. The question i have is about glass tanks, one local fish store is telling me not to do it in glass infact he wont order it for me. He says down the road good chance of a blowout. He does not sell acriylic but says that is the way i should go,but i dont want acriylic because of the scratching. What do you think? There seems to be alot of glass tanks bigger than i want out there.

of course you can do glass.. Look into AGE ( acrylic and glass exibits) Miracles in glass.. Here is a quick pick of a 120" X 36" X24" with the overflow in the center

Thats the site i was just on as you sent the picture. How can i get i get a tank from them, if the bottom was pvc this would make a big difference in weight.

You should be able to contact them to find a distributer as they don't sell directly to the public.. AGE did not build the tank above though, Concept Aquariums did but unfortunatly they aren't around anymore
