New 93 gallon marineland rimless
Just bought a 93 gallon 30x30x24 rimless tank. Equipment will be transferred from current 90g 48x18x24. I will be building a stand tomorrow. The doors will need to be completely removable for easy access to all equipment. Still trying to figure out what to do about a sump. Will probably need to have a custom built. I purchased a radion XR30w Pro LED for lighting. Need to find a real nice hanging kit. Skimmer is superRO XP 2000. Return is Eheim 1262. MP40Wes for flow with battery backup. Possibly buying a 2nd. I can use input if it is actually needed or should I go with an MP 10 for 2nd pump. Controller is an apex jr with salinity and temp probe. I still need to buy floats and configure ATO. Dosing is two BRS 1.1ml per min dosing pumps for 2 part dosing. I am very excited about this built. Have always wanted a rimless and have slowly been buying good equipment. I will post pictures tomorrow of the stand build. Please feel free to chime in with any constructive criticism.i have been in this hobby for ~7 years but I have so much to learn still. Oh, and it will be a mixed reef.

Congrats! I'm cycling this tank right now. I built my stand, and I'm using a trigger systems elite 30 sump. It's really nice. I'm also using 2 mp 40s, radion g3 pro and an overflow from Melev's reef. Let me know if you need any advice. I went through all kinds of research picking exactly what I needed.

Oh I also have plans for the stand I built if you would like to look at them.

That is pretty much exactly how I want my stand with the only exception of the front door. I want a single removable panel. It would look just like the one on the side but completely removable and attached by some hinges. The color looks great also. That would match my living room furniture.

I drew these up in CAD. Here you go. I built it all with a Kreg Jig so I didn't need the typical screw strips. I'm so glad I did the recessed top with the ledge all the way around the front and sides. It comes in handy.

I used A/C grade pine on the body and oak for the doors and trim. I modeled it off of my cabinets in my house. In fact, the stain I used was in my attic from where the builders stained my cabinetry. I finished it with 4 coats of soar varnish. I also used white oil based kilz on the inside. It turned out great.

My side door was made too big so I had to modify the plans halfway through it because I wasn't about to build another door. Also, the front top lip is 2" not 3" like the sides.

I ended up going with a herbie overflow. I drilled the tank on the back right and went straight through the stand top and into the sump. There is no exposed plumbing and it looks really clean. My initial thoughts were to do a ghost overflow but I'm happy I went this route.

So the stand is built. I will be busy on my 5 days off after Friday. I will level/shim the stand, install foam under tank, build removable doors, install sump and plumbing, and install light. Will have to buy or build hanging kit. Then finally transfer all rock/coral from 90g. I can't wait to see this bad boy running.

Looks real nice, love the rimless look. To bad you couldn't put it in to a spot that you could view all three panes. I like the rockwork, plenty of ledges and spots for coral and fish to hide, but also nice and open.

I have been real busy lately so things have been going slow. I transferred my coral from my old tank that was still at my old house. The transfer did not go well. I lost approximately 75 % of my coral. It is a bummer to lose so much coral. I guess I need to just think about the new coral I will be getting and be happy about that. I upgraded my sump and got a precision marine R30 which fits perfectly under my tank and houses my sro xp 2000 skimmer and eheim 1262 return pump. Pics will be updated tomorrow.

I lost this one which was the size of a basketball.

On a positive note. I won a marineland double bright LED light from a raffle at my LFS when I purchased my sump the other day. Does anyone know if that would be good for my sump lighting. Hopefully it will be good for the chaeto in the refugium.
