New Anemone Placement

I picked up my first anemone yesterday and watched it move
around a bit. Overnight, it attached to the front display glass.
Should I move it? Should I wait to see if it stays there? I'd
rather see it make a home on the rocks....

You can try to move it where you'd prefer it to be but there's no guarantee it will stay there. Try to put it where there's good flow.

heh, yeah, the anemone will decide if it likes it where you put it.

Watch out, anemones on the move can burn a nasty path through the corals.

OK - just went to check up on the anemone and in just the two hours since I asked the question, the anemone let go of the front glass and has moved to some tonga live rock. Lights will come on soon so we'll see what happens. I did not realize that these creatures could move so quickly!

Thanks for the advice on the path, I'll keep an eye on it. Fortunately I only have a few corals and I haven't glued them down yet, so if the green bubble anemone gets close I can move the corals temporarily.

what kind of anenome? if it is a BTA may want to take some rock and move it around him so he feels tucked in. they like to burrow in the rock. look in the clown fish and anenome forum. lots of info posted with regards to anenomes and their requerments

The LFS guy said it was a green bubble sea anemone. I was just checking out the clown and anemone forum to see what others have experienced. Right now "Speedy" as my daughter has named him, is tucked below a rock and barely visible. We'll see if he's just resting from his overnight travels....my clown is curious but hasn't come into contact with it yet.....

I moved mine when he was barely visible and placed bim in a rock where I wanted him. I surrounded him with rock so he could feel secure. I was lucky and it stayed put. He does at times close up and go under the rock. I now let him be and he is very happy

they never stay where you want them, he will find a spot he likes , if he doesnt like water or flow he will continue to move, i lost a rbta to a maxijet...............

btw, bta should be placed on rock, seabae should be placed where sand meets rock as they like to bury under rock, my second rbta split into 3 , one died, now i have 2 , stinks they like the back of the rock work, my seabae pretty much stayed where i put him and is 16" , i hope he stops growing soon , im losing sps room ;)
