Have you had the opportunity to test out any of these fixtures? I am interested in getting the 8X54W, but am waiting for some reviews of its performance...

Its hard to see from the pics but do these have fans and are active cooled?

They do have fans, I believe two on each side. Another site did an in-depth look at the 48" 8 Bulb fixture. The only concern was that the bulbs seem too close together to use the reflectors for proper light spread.
