Well, not to be too picky... the 1D series is Canon's flagship(s). The 1D Mark III and the upcoming 1Ds Mark III serve two different purposes. The former is for sports and high speed photography (1.3x FOV and 10fps). The latter is for everything else and more (although the 1D III isn't bad for portraits, landscapes, etc either).

But it's a welcome addition to the Canon line-up. I only wish I could get both! (Although I probably don't need it haha).
