Finally I got the wrasse I have been looking for!! I wanted this or a mccosker's and every fish store turned me down for ordering this basically! I found one store 1 hour away that had one so I rushed out to see it. he's a really great specimen! Day 2 and he's already eating NLS pellets in QT. I will keep him in there for about 3 weeks and if I see no ailments, in to the DT he will go.

Remember, your tank must be covered (not egg crate) as they are prolific jumpers. Nice fish!

Beautiful photo. You will eventually wish you had purchased a couple of females at the same time. A male alone will lose some of his color without the presence of any females. I was in the same position as you are and had to buy another male and two juveniles so the little ones wouldn't turn male while they were in quarantine.

Thanks for the heads up! I haven't seen any places have any females though. I was lucky to find the male! I'm ok with just having him :)

Occasionally Live Aquaria will offer a trio of them; one male and two juveniles. You can program LA to e-mail you when they have them available.

I remember reading that some people had good success with introducing the females later on with the use of an acclimation box.

Bluezoo also sells females occasionally. I got some great McCoskers from them a while back.

Hey what store did you get it at? Im looking to get a wrasse soon

Captain Larry's. They were the ONLY store that had a flasher wrasse! RMS has some but they have no idea what they are they were labeled as anthias! Plus they feed live brine as their staple food :thumbdown

I doubt it about AT. I tried to get them to get anything in and the guy just blows me off :( good luck! I hope you find one! I can't wait to add this guy to my DT he is a wonderful fish!! He eats NLS pellets like it's his job too which is great!

Beauty!! Definite yes on the cover for these though!!

About once every couple days, I hear a thwack! from the tank as my flasher smashes his head on the tank covers.

Been happening regularly since adding a tang.
