I am jealous, they're gorgeous! I have a 3" crocea that's as ugly as a mud fence, but it has a great personality. Ya wanna swap?

If you don't mind my asking, could you tell me the length of each clam and tell me what you paid, including shipping? I'm always looking for a bargain.

Each are 2" long ...

I bought them from Steve Tyree because of his reputation ... So I probably paid more for these than I could have elsewhere. He considered both of these to be Ultra Grade.

I paid $60 a piece plus $40 shipping ...

If I were to buy these guys here locally, I would have paid another $80 more on top of the price of the clams with shipping ... so from a local purchase standpoint, I got a deal.

The maxima is very nice. I would imagine the crocea will become better looking as it grows, pattern-wise. It's got nice color.

Well, that sounds like a good price to me. I agree that an LFS (at least here as well as in your location) would charge at least $90 dollars apiece for clams of that color at 2" in length.
