New Coral Prop Tank for University Study

My university is setting up a 100 gallon coral propagation tank for research purposes. This tank was previously set up and then fell apart when another department took the water pump for use in their pond. I would like to know if anyone has heard of softies used medicinally? I have heard that certain toxins have been used as steroids that inhibit cell growth but other than that I am not sure. Also, is there a certain softie that has an amazing growth rate? Any suggestions for other fast growing corals are encouraged.

provided enough light and good flow and whatnot...xenia, no doube, is the fastest grower i've ever seen. More like a weed than a coral.

Close behind it would have to be green star polyps. My toadstool leathers grow pretty fast as well. The other thing i've had that grows really fast is mushrooms. Purples in particular if they're under lower light.

I have heard about people using thick polyp toadstools for cancer research; as well as some work with zoanthid for palyotoxin. Not much else though.

oh, and kenya tree grows extremely fast as well
